Warm spices, orange zest and cane sugar define this Timor Hybrid from the Gayo Highlands. Its rounded sweetness and gentle acidity create a balanced, warming profile. Triple-picked and processed using the traditional Giling Basah method, this coffee was developed specifically for the Christmas season.

Roasted by the Swiss Roasting Champion (SCA Switzerland, 2025).

Christmas Coffee 2026

With every bag of coffee you buy, you help build healthy soils for farmers in the Gayo Highlands of Sumatra. CHF 5 per bag goes towards expanding their composting facility.

Our Christmas Coffee comes from the village of Uning Bertih, at the foot of the Burni Telong volcano. The Gayo Highlands are among the finest Arabica regions in the world. The microclimate on the slopes, at 1,200 to 1,600 m above sea level, allows for a longer harvest season and outstanding lots.

In July, Bianca and Ruben visited the farmers. One wish came up again and again: more compost. At Pondok Gajah, the Orang Utan Coffee Project’s processing station, coffee cherry pulp is already being turned into compost. Once it’s expanded, every farmer in the project should be able to benefit.

ViCAFE is co-funding the expansion through the ViFOUNDATION, which also supports the project with technical expertise. On the ground, it’s carried out by our local partner, the Orang Utan Coffee Project.
